Call Upon Me 2022
‘Call upon me’ demonstrates the beauty amongst the clamouring of Muslims near the Holy Ka’aba as people from all walks of life shed their wordly possessions in their bid to reach Allah (swt).
This painting is inspired by Verse 60 in Sura Ghafir, ‘Call upon Me and I will answer you..’ and acts as a daily reminder of the unity between Muslims and our united aim – servitude of God.
Rukn al Yamani 2023
‘Rukn al Yamani’ is a journey into one of the four corners of the Holy Ka’aba where a crack reportedly appeared that Ali ibn Abu Talib came out of with his mother after his birth inside the Ka’aba. This painting is inspired by this event and the holy place where it took place.
Kiswat al Ka’aba 2023
A simplistic deeper look into the cloth of the holy Ka’aba and the words woven into it. The painting transports you to the Holy Masjid al Haram and features the central creed of Islam – There is no God but Allah, Muhammad is His messenger.
The Holy Ka’aba 2022
An iconic centrepiece featuring the Holy Ka’aba in all its glory. The piece highlights the graceful gold inscriptions on the cloth of the Ka’aba and is a personification of the unity displayed by Muslims there, in servitude of God.
The Deepest Green 2022
Inspired by verse 64 in Surah Rahman, مدهامتان, is a reminder of the beautiful nature described in the holy Quran. The creation subtly weaves in neon green lights to beautify the painting, again inspired by Surah Rahman, the adornment of the Quran.
As almost all surahs in the Quran do, this features the word Bismillah, translating to In the Name of Allah (swt).
By The Setting Stars 2023
This piece is a limited edition of the Holy Ka’aba painting, inspired by the prominent imagery of stars in the holy Quran. The Quran often talks about the setting or falling stars which some scholars believe is a metaphor for the different verses and chapters of the Quran which came down from the heavens as guidance for mankind.
The combination of the stars and the holy Ka’aba is a representation of the holy house and book of God.
The painting also features a pulsating star in the top right section, an homage to the miracle of the Quran in Surah Tariq which discusses the ‘knocker’ star which is now believed to be a reference to a pulsating star, a recent discovery.
